Few things about fever:-
1) Fever is an inflammatory response. It is not synonymous with infection, as fever can be triggered by any systemic inflammatory response.
2) Fever is an adaptive response to invading infection. It increases immunity. It decreases viral and bacterial replication.
Next Steps
Contact a general physician, who will evaluate the fever type and origin looking at your medical history and investigations. Doctor might order additional tests for better understanding.
Health Tips
Arrange your previous tests and prescriptions in a chronological manner, for better understanding of the disease progression.
Conservative measures to reduce fever:-
1) Keep clothing to a minimum. Avoid over-dressing and multiple layers of clothing. Let the heat dissipate.
2) Avoid strenuous activities, hot weather, warm/hot foods.
3) Take sponge bath. Avoid water that is too cold, which might cause shivering.
