Counseling..take time to read plz
I am studying mbbs finsihed 2nd year now. Earlier i used to say i want to become as a doctor but now my desire change. I don't know how to convey to my parents. Before choosing this path i already told them i want to go for any fields related to music but they never agreed. But now i feels so bad and heavy for choosing this career. I never know this field requires lot of learning, reading, studying for more hours, revisiting etc. I only know everyone considers it as a big job so i said to be a doctor when grow up. But now i realised reality is very far away. Almost spent more than 13 lakhs for 2 yrs no one is gonna stand for me. I don't know what to do. I really likes to be a singer but i never know if i could sing or not so i don't have that courage to fight back. What do i do?

It's not uncommon for people's desires and aspirations to evolve as they grow and experience different things. It sounds like you're currently at a point where you're questioning your chosen career path and feeling conflicted about your passions. Here are a few steps to consider as you navigate this situation: Self-Reflection: Take some time to reflect on your passions, interests, and strengths. Consider what truly excites you and what you could see yourself doing in the long term. Make a list of your skills, hobbies, and the things that make you happy. Talk to Someone: If you're feeling overwhelmed and uncertain, consider talking to a trusted friend, family member, or mentor about your feelings. Sometimes, sharing your thoughts with someone can provide valuable perspective and support. Research and Exploration: If you're interested in pursuing a career in music, it might be helpful to explore this interest further. You could take singing lessons, participate in local music groups, or even record yourself singing to gain more insight into your potential as a singer. Balancing Passion and Reality: While pursuing your passion for music is important, it's also essential to consider the practical aspects of your decision. Think about how you could balance your interest in music with financial stability and career opportunities. Communicate with Your Parents: It's important to have an open and honest conversation with your parents about your changing aspirations. Express your feelings, concerns, and desires respectfully. Share your thought process and explain why you're reconsidering your current career path. Career Guidance: Consider seeking advice from career counselors or professionals in both the medical field and the music industry. They might offer insights into what each path entails and help you make a more informed decision. Exploration Period: You could consider taking a gap year or a break from your studies to explore your passion for music more deeply. During this time, you could take singing lessons, create music, perform at local venues, and gain a better understanding of whether music is a viable career option for you. Remember that life is a journey, and it's okay to reevaluate your choices and make adjustments along the way. Pursuing a career you're passionate about can lead to greater fulfillment, but it's important to also consider practicalities and potential challenges. Ultimately, the decision is yours to make, and it's important to choose a path that aligns with your values, interests, and long-term goals.

Hi.. Most of your issues stand around your present situation. You have chosen a field (medical), spent 2 years & 13 lakhs, and now you are not sure if you really want to be a doctor. This is not an unusual situation, lot of young medical/engineering/science/arts and students in almost all fields face this kind of second thoughts. We have to be rational when it comes to our career but that doesn't mean we choose and remain in a field just because we have chosen it. Remember, MBBS is a bachelors degree and you can opt for other fields even after completing your MBBS. It is not a compulsion to only work as a doctor post MBBS. You can also try your hand in singing once you get little stable with your career. You must have qualified NEET or a similar entrance exam to get admitted in an MBBS program. So you surely have a potential inside you. You may have more inclinations but as a bachelors degree, MBBS is good to have. Think about it as a back up for your passion in singing or elsewhere. Life is all about exploration and we must follow what we really want. But till the time we are really sure about it, it is always good to follow something, rather than nothing.
