Coughing and slight chest discomfort
Yesterday I helped my parents clean our their barn due to a rodent infestation and I wasn't wearing a mask. I was coughing a lot while cleaning as well as after and was just thinking it was the dust at the moment. Am I needing to take action to try and further prevent any disease that the rodents may have been carrying?

There are very few airborne diseases which can actually be caused by rodent exposure. Just watch for breathless / cough and consult a pulmnologist if the symptoms persist for a few days after cleaning.
