Bilateral leg swelling that's worse in the evening and most prominent at the ankles is a pattern called dependent edema. The most common cause at your age, especially with a desk job involving prolonged sitting, is simply gravity — blood pools in the lower limbs when you sit for long periods. Other causes to rule out include hypothyroidism, low albumin (from diet or liver/kidney issues), venous insufficiency, or rarely cardiac causes. From the photos, the swelling appears mild. For now, try elevating your legs for 30 minutes in the evening and walking/stretching every hour at work. Get basic tests done: CBC, LFT, RFT, urine routine, serum albumin, and TFT. Also check your blood pressure.
Next Steps
Get CBC, LFT, RFT, urine routine, serum albumin, TFT, and BP check. Elevate legs in the evening and take movement breaks during work. See a physician if swelling worsens or if tests are abnormal.
