My mother is diabetic and currently in USA. Off late she is experiencing sweating in her sleep and tingling in mouth which stats for 15-20 mins.
She gets up and eats chocolate and feels better in a while. She is on insulin. Please see details below:

She is most likely suffering from hypoglycaemia in midnight ie. low blood sugar levels. She should reduce the night dose of lispro and lantus by 2 units each. Furthurmore, she will be required to be assessed regading the cause of hypoglycaemia.
