Constant fever
My child is 4 years old and has been running fever of >101F for last 40 hours. I suspect it to be viral and have waited till now. gave him calpol and ibugesic. He has cough, running nose and fever. He is eating well though less than usual. Now I am getting paranoid. What shall be the next step. Shall I wait for the evening for fever to settle down or visit the doctor immediately.

According to symptoms it seems viral fever in which fever is very high and takes 5 to 7 days.since it's a season of dengue fever,I ll advise to get done CBC and dengue NS1 test.If it's negative then continue paracetamol  with plenty of liquids and wait for 2 more days.
