Hello Dr,
My son is 14 months old and weighs 10 kg. He is very active, eats well, and has reached all his developmental milestones ahead of time. However, I’ve noticed that he appears quite lean for his age, and I’m concerned about his physique. Despite his good appetite and activity levels, I’m unsure if his weight is a cause for concern.
Should I be worried about his weight, or is this something typical for his age? Do you think it would be a good idea to consult a pediatrician about this, or would you recommend any further evaluation.
Thank you !

Hey.
Your kid’s weight for age is perfectly in the normal range. Considering he has good appetite and has attained the desired milestones apt for his age, I don’t see any cause for concern. Kids taller for their age might appear lean. Hence, it would be pertinent to get his height checked as well. It would help us trace your child on a growth chart for a more objective evaluation.
