Complain of itching in private part
Hello Doctor, My daughter (10years old) has recurrent itching on the outer genital folds (labia majora), mostly on one side. There is no redness, discharge, or pain while urinating. This issue comes and goes every 3–4 months.she has not started her period yet. Could this be due to irritation, mild fungal infection, or worms? What is the safest treatment for a child? Should we use any antifungal cream or only hygiene care?

Hello As per your history and localisation of lesions, this seems to be due to poor genital hygiene with mild fungal infection . You should focus on hygiene with washing with soap and water during bath and rest washing with water after every micturition along with drying the area with toilet paper.
Next Steps
consult a pediatrician for examination

In this case, your daughter appears to have irritation , might be due to inner wear clothes, soap, so keep the area dry, use good cotton loose inner wear, dry them under sunlight.

Greetings Recurrent genital itching in a 10-year-old is often caused by irritation from soaps or bubble baths, improper wiping, or potentially pinworms if the itching is worse at night. For a child who hasn't started puberty, fungal (yeast) infections are relatively uncommon unless they have recently taken antibiotics. The safest initial approach is to practice strict hygiene care, which includes washing the area with only plain warm water, wearing loose cotton underwear, and avoiding all scented products or harsh detergents.

Hi...itching in private parts can be mostly due to sweating and fungal infection...see to that the child washes her private parts evrytime after using washroom...also check on her innerwear...see to that they are washed properly and sundried...if there is still itching apply candid ointment twice daily for a week...it will subside...
