Ciprofloxacin eye drops for newborn
I already gave my newborn baby Ciprofloxacin eyedrop for one month as pediatrician told me to give for her watery eyes...as later I found on net it should not be used in neonates...m worried about what could be it's harmful effects on my baby...as used it for one month...plz suggest what to do...m very worried? Now tht I already used it what could be it's harm effects on my baby?

Yes in neonates ciprofloxacin in any form  should not be given. However don't worry nothing bad will happen. Put some lubricant eye drops e.g. teardrop 2to3 times daily. And give lacrmal massage. If discharge is there,You can use tobramycin or moxifloxacin eye drops. Or consult an ophthalmologist nearby.
