Hope u have mentioned about trapezius muscle in the neck, because trapezoid is a bone in the wrist. Trapezius is not primary the cause of pain in most cases, whereas it gets symptomatic secondary to a cervical  disc, facet joint dysfunction, rounded upper back, forward head posture, abnormally tilted pelvis etc,
Next Steps
pelvic traction for 4days, followed by cervical traction for a week along with IFT. start shoulder shrugging exercise, pelvic tilts, thoracic mobility exercises, segmental breathing in lying under a physical therapist supervision

Tight or smasm in trapezius muscle is a common occupational hazard. It takes time to correct the posture and strengthen the muscles of neck and upper back to keep one's head in optimal posture. Radiation also occurs because of severe/chronic spasm in trapezius leading to nerve irritation
