Coughing for a month with spasm, chronic lung/back pain, fever for a day, been on medication for 3 days of 5 days recommended by physician with the following dose: antihistamine 10mg once a day for 5 days Dextromethorphan HBr Guaifenesin 15ml, 3 times a day for 5 days Clarithromycin 500 mg, 2 times a day for 4 days

Hello. Very Good morning. I'm Dr.Yogesh Kr Sharma. As per your history given. May be you are suffering from Pulmonory Tuberculosis. So to Rule out Tuberculosis you should go for some investigations. And the coughing up for more than 3 weeks is suspicious of Tuberculosis, if you do not get relief by a course of conventional antibiotics and other medicines. You are on a wrong line of treatment. Tab. Clarithromycin is not used in usual chest infection and it is usually used in stomach Ulcer and second line of drug in Tuberculosis . Kindly come to practo chat, if you really want to get cured.
