I have been having a cyclic history of an anal fissure. There is a skin tag which has recently gotten a little inflamed. It is however better now, I am following a better diet from a few days, but one doctor on practo scared me saying it can become a fistula and what not. I am extremely worried. Please advise.

Fissure will not lead to fistula most of the times. Perianal abscess will lead to fistula usually.

Dietary modifications can easily cure fissure disease to some extend. You also need to take seitz bath for 10 mins in the morning and evening for 1 month atleast. Apply lignocaine gelly 10 mins before passing stools each time. Stools consistency should be soft. Take stool softener agent if needed
