Dear you need to take rest and apply ice pack twice a day, wear knee brace for support. If possible do Stretching, quadriceps, hamstring and hip abductor exercises. If you feel increasing pain while or after exercises stop the movements and visit physiotherapy clinic for electrotherapy treatment. You age is less, there is no problem to worry about. take calcium rich diet.

As per my opinion you should consult a senior physiotherapist that will help you in relieving your pain in correct manner and also assess the cause to it so that there are less chances of reoccurrence It could be possible that you are having trigger points in your knee area which is causing this trouble and you are too young for any MRI changes
