Hello Doctor,
I recently had some blood tests done and wanted your opinion.
Here are my key reports:
- Total Cholesterol: 246.8 mg/dL (High)
-
Triglycerides: 106 mg/dL (Normal)
- Hemoglobin: 12.6 g/dL (Slightly low)
Other tests:
-
Thyroid (
TSH): Normal
- Blood
Sugar (Fasting & PP): Normal
-
Liver Function Test: Normal
-
Kidney Function Test: Normal
- ECG: Reported as normal
Background:
- Age: 28 years
- No
diabetes or thyroid issues
- Family history: My mother has heart disease (had a heart attack)
Current lifestyle:
- Following a controlled diet (~1600 kcal)
- Eating oats, eggs, limited oil, and reducing sugar
- Doing light exercise
My questions:
1. Do I need to start any medication (like statins) at this stage?
2. Should I do any additional tests (
LDL,
HDL, ApoB, etc.)?
3. Is lifestyle modification enough for now?
Please guide me on the next steps.
Thank you.
