My son who is 3.5 yrs old has a cavity filled in one molar one year ago. At the time of filling doctor said he may need rct as cavity had gone deep and touched d nerve. I have a query as we are yet to get the rct done as my kid is not cooperative, will the infected root lead to infection in permanent molar in future.

If the cavity had touched the nerve of the tooth than the treatment should have been PULPECTOMY (Many dentist refer it to as RCT while explaining it to the patient) instead of a filling.
The infection in milk tooth will not lead to infected permanent tooth.
But if the infection from the milk tooth may spread into the gums and jaw bone and result in severe pain sometimes followed by swelling.
You should immediately consult your dentist and start the treatment.
Next Steps
Consult a Pediatric Dentist, as they are expert in managing children.
