Chicken pox exposure
My manager had rashed yesterday today evening he is diagnosed with chicken pox, so I was interacting with him for the 2 days so afraid of getting chicken pox and also I am with my husband so fear of him getting exposed too As I said, I am afraid that I may get infected so it's 3 days now what can be done? I consulted a doctor online he said it will take 7-14 days to show symptoms so should I go to a clinic now and ask for any specific vaccination or should I wait for one week?? I have never had chicken pox but I think I remember vaccinated once as a child as precaution in a hospital. Now what are the measures to be taken and also what precaution can be done in home like eat cold fooods and something like that... Please give a answer that will be helpful

While chickenpox can be serious especially in adults there is no reason to panic. For most healthy people, it is a mild, self-limiting illness that resolves on its own within one to two weeks. Since you remember being vaccinated as a child, your risk of a severe case is significantly lower. Even if you do get infected , symptoms are typically much milder, with fewer blisters and little to no fever. If you develop symptoms, highly effective antiviral medications are available. These can significantly reduce the severity and duration of the illness. If your husband has already had chickenpox or has received two doses of the vaccine, he is likely immune and the risk to him is very low.
Next Steps
There are no specific cold food requirements to prevent the infection, but staying hydrated with water, coconut water, or clear soups is recommended Watch for early signs like a mild fever, tiredness, or headache, which often appear 1–2 days before the rash. If a rash develops, lukewarm (not hot) baths and applying calamine lotion can help soothe itching.
Health Tips
Serious complications usually come with clear warning signs. If you experience difficulty breathing, chest pain, a very high fever, or confusion, you should seek immediate medical attention.

To reduce risk: Avoid close contact with your husband for a few days if possible Wash hands frequently Don’t share towels, utensils, pillows Monitor yourself daily for: Fever Body ache Tiredness Rash (starts as red spots → blisters) Protecting your husband If you develop symptoms, isolate immediately Avoid physical contact until all blisters crust over If he never had chickenpox or vaccine, he may also consider vaccination When to see a doctor urgently High fever (>102°F / 39°C) Severe headache or vomiting Rash in eyes or severe pain
