Doc has prescribed Galvus 50/1000 in place of Istamet 50/500. Is this the same medicine from a different company with different strength?? Does this effect pancreatic functions to control blood sugar or does it enhance the functions of insulin shots? Thank you.

They both belong to DPP4 inhibitor class of drugs. The dose is changed for Metformin which is in combination. These drugs are insulin sensitizers and also improve insulin secretion through incretin pathway
