Change from multifocal to monofocal lens
Hi ,  I am 35 and an airline pilot, 4 years back i had to go thru cataract surgery on my right eye , due to blurred vision, where the doctor did perform cataract surgery with Phacoemulsification by installing Multifcal IOL(bausch made),  And after the surgery i had 20/20 vision with no complications,  But as soon as went for my aviation medical, I was denied medical certificate as Multifocal IOL is not allowed in aviation .  I went again to doctor , asking him to help me change it to monofocal, to which he replied if they perform another surgery,i might loose my eye sight or it might become weak ,and surgery has risk , he denied me to change of lenses.  So my question is , is it possible to change my IOL from multifocal to monofocal without it affecting my eyesight, Can i get 20/20  vision by usin.. Can I use spectacle's? Unaided is without spectacle If i use glasses and get it 20/20 , I have done YAG already on the eye,Does it make any difference? Waiting fr reply..Thank U!

It can be exchanged.. but as your doctor said it is associated with some risk.. if u had multi focal then no need to use glare if u have no residual power..
Next Steps
if really necessary then go for exchange.. if u R with can be managed with multi focal then that's best
