Chalazion surgery
My wife need to undergo chalazion surgery. Her lower eyelid is suffering from chalazion from last 4 months. The oil gland is in the size of capsule. She researched on the same and found out that the chances of recurrence of chalazion is still there even after the incision. What are the chances of recurrence? And how safe is the procedure? Is there anything to worry?? The procedure has scared her to a great extent and she has a discomfort in doing the same. What will happen if she doesn't go for this?

Please do not worry. The procedure is extremely routine and safe. She will hardly feel any pain as the procedure is done under local anaesthesia. Chances of recurrence are less than 1% with proper technique. The chalazion will not subside without surgery.
