A. First... Get keratometry... If there is more than one dioptre of corneal astigmatism then I avoid multifocal lens
B. If spherical aberration is more even then multifocal is not recommended

Multifocal lens is advised for patients who want to get rid of reading glasses after surgery . It is best for patient s who do moderate reading and no driving .
For a 70y f I think it's not necessary
