Cataract surgery is for improvement in quality of life. Her visual needs may be met at this age inspite of a cataract. But then her vision will improve after surgery if the retina is in good condition. It may not be delayed too much as the cataract hardens in due course. Decision for surgery is taken after due consideration of the life style and expectation from surgery. You should let the patient have a discussion with the treating doctors and facilitate the process.
