mouth ulcers in children can have many causes... The most common is Recurrent Aphthous ulcers— painful ulcers that appear one at a time, often due to stress or nutritional deficiencies (like iron, Vitamin B12). However, since this has been going on for several months, it’s important to rule out underlying causes also... ..like Nutritional deficiencies (Iron, B12, folate), Celiac disease etc.
Next Steps
Topical analgesic gel and good oral hygiene can help. If deficiencies are found, supplements will help reduce recurrence.Kindly consult your pediatrician to evaluate further. If the ulcers are large, or if your child has other symptoms, early specialist consultation is advised
Health Tips
Please observe for any other symptoms like fever, weight loss, tiredness, frequent infections, or ulcers in other parts of the body. I would recommend basic blood tests if possible after consultation with any pediatrition.

Namaste parent! Canker sore often doesn’t have underlying cause and keeps recurring for months and years in some children If the child is growing well and doesn’t have gastrointestinal symptoms, eating well, it’s not worrisome. You may go in for simple measures to relieve pain and help rule out possible causes: - it may occur In conjunction with a viral illness. Add on b complex for a week or two - cold and soft and bland foods offer relief . Avoid spicy foods - often they are the possible cause - some foods cause allergies and may be precipitating the painful ulcers - check if chocolate, coffee, nuts, cheese, citrus fruits are causing the problem - a simple hemogram for checking Hb and ESR is helpful. If anemia is there, it will require correction and ESR if high will need further investigation - stress is also a factor in few children. Encourage active play and sports to combat it
Next Steps
b complex with folate, B12 for 10 -14 days will help out esp if on a vegetarian diet Avoid spicy foods
Health Tips
Canker sores are benign problem, not to be stressed about
