Am i good canditate for cairs i have done tcat and c3r on 22 jan 2025 doctor has ruined my case decreased my corneal thickness and now i am having severe ghosting and vision problems, my vision is 6/6 without glasses and glasses dont help and i dont want to go for contacts

Hello, CAIRS will not help with your symptoms. The thinning you have is more central for which CAIRS doesnt help much. It helps more in people with peripheral thinning and steepening. The scan you shared, is this the new or old one, because in this scan the thinning is not very bad. With this scan we can actually try to do something for ghosting.

Hi so as a cornea specialist would like to suggest giving ur condition, CAIRS would not be advisable . In this a corneal tissue is inserted within ur cornea as u have already undergone CXL , the cornea is already stiff ..it would be difficult to insert a tissue by making laser tunnels . Best option is to get good contact lens trial preferably customised scleral lenses .
