Hello 40 years old female, diabetic since last 1 year. Sugars under control. Had a cosmetic dental filling in February. Suddenly I have developed a burning sensation in my mouth on and off since 1 mouth. Never had such an issue for my previous fillings. There is no problem in eating or sleeping. But the sensation is uncomfortable. It suddenly goes away on its own. I am a pure vegetarian. My dentist says it's not an issue. Am worried if it's a neurological issue. Kindly advise.

A burning sensation in mouth like you described can have several causes. Based on your details one possibility is Burning Mouth Syndrome (BMS - Neuropathic cause), but other causes should also be considered such as -
* Even when sugar is controlled, diabetes can sometimes cause mild neuropathy affecting oral nerves.
* Rare, but sometimes patients react to composite resin or bonding agents used in cosmetic fillings.
* Burning mouth can occur with deficiency of Vitamin B12, Iron, or Folate.
Next Steps
* Check blood tests -
Vitamin B12
Iron / Ferritin
Folate
HbA1c (for diabetes control)
* Oral examination by a dentist - Check the filling area and rule out local irritation.
* Maintain oral moisture - Drink water frequently.
Health Tips
First rule out vitamin deficiency and oral infection, then consider Burning Mouth Syndrome if everything is normal.
1. Agar purey muh mai burning ho rhi hai to toh it maybe burning mouth syndrome .
2. But agar filling krwane ke baad shuru hua hai aur agar burning sensation us filling ke around horhi hai to it can be reversible pulp irritation due to deep cavity preparation during procedure or high occlusion .
*Filling material se allergy bhi ho sakti hai pr it is in 1-2% cases.
Next Steps
If it is due to deep preparation or high point exactly occlusion examine krne ke baad, cold test aur x-ray ke baad hi proper diagnosis ban sakta hai.
