Hi, Grinding of the teeth causes teeth to get worn out/ attrited that is why she is getting sensitivity
Next Steps
you must take her to a local dentist and get a night guard made a night guard is like a mould , it sits on all the teeth and protects it so that even if there is grinding...teeth dont get damaged also buy toothpaste thermoseal RA now though it is a toothpaste use it like a medication take a bit apply on all the teeth...leave for 10 mins , wash it out this will repair the damage to an extent i hope this was helpful to you regards, Dr. Prachi Lalji

There could be many factors causing her to grind her teeth. The primary reason is stress. If the person is undergoing constant stress they tend to grind teeth to ease out the stress. The other cause could be when the upper and lower teeth are not in alignment with each other ,it's our body's involuntary physiologic response to respond to it by grinding teeth and try to bring it to alignment. Another cause could be if she has a jaw joint (TMJ) problem ..in dental term we call it TMD ...it could lead to constant grinding and lead to wearing  of enamel layer of teeth exposing the sensitive deeper layer causing severe sensitivity in teeth. It would be prudent to visit a dentist and get necessary treatment done.

Visit dentist for bite guard  appliance. To wear it during sleep which will help break that habit.
