Breastfeeding Pain/Thrush/Cracked Nipple
Hi, I am 30 year old mom, I have been breastfeeding my 16 month old and his is also on solids. Past 2 months, I noticed cracked and dry nipples and areola, which also sometimes bled. I applied ghee, lanolin, breastmilk but nothing really worked , only temporary relief. I did suffer from mastitis last month, twice and was put on antibiotics. However, my areola is still tender, dry, inflamed and flaky and it pains alot while feeding and even after the feeding session. I have been applying coconut oil but its not that effective. What could be the reason of this reoccurring pain? I see no white patches on baby's mouth/lip. What can I apply to soothe the skin?
