Breast feeding problems
Hi On April 1st I delivered a Baby Boy, it was normal delivery. Unfortunately I didn't get milk on first two days, everyone in the house were panic & put me into tension as well because my mother had breast cancer and she didn't survive. Since it was my first baby I had no clue how and when breast milk will come. My family was kept on asking all visiting Drs till I get discharged & they put me into Lactare medicine(2-2-2), after taking medicine my breast became very hard & baby wasn't sucking properly. Later they started to give hot water bag massages, pumping from machines, still I didn't get milk, and nipples pore wasn't opened. After 5-6 days I got small amount of milk and was happy, But baby wasn't sucking and he was adjusted to Formula milk. Slowly he reduced & now he is not latching. Meanwhile I had stopped taking medicine Latare. Is there any chances of increasing breast milk now, because I hardly get 4-5 drops of milk form each breast... Should I continue Lactare tab..?

Hello Practo User !! as per your Description there is not lactation from your breast after delivery ( or very few lactation). You have tried all things as hook or cook but there is no result. Lactare tab also not working. There are such fear about this thing to you and your family, as 1. Your mother had breast cancer thus, if your baby is not taking feeding then you may have chances? - Its not true, so do not worry about thinking of it, but you should have to scan regular after 35 years of age. 2. If your body is not producing mother milk then pump will also not works. 3. Your nipple pores are not opened properly, because of your breasts are not lactating. 4. After taking tablet you had hard breast which you have to recover by hot water bag massage. 5. Your baby is not sucking nipples, because he can not get anything after a hard work. Thus you should have to be relaxed and not taken for granted as baby will not ready to suck to get mother milk, as he is getting more food ( Milk) without any trouble, its so easy than sucking nipples. Now if you want to have breast milk you can try for Ayurveda medicines. as its 100% safe and will not have any side effects. But, after that if baby is not ready to suck then you have to get it out with pump or another way. Start the following medicines, 1. Leptaden tablet 2 tabs twice a day 2. Shatavari churna 1 gram twice a day with milk Regards, Dr. Nikul Patel Ayurveda Consultant Ayurveda Online and Offline Consultant Ahmedabad, India whatsapp - +91 98250 40844
