Body temperature for 5yr old
Hello Doctor, my child is 5yr old. My child's body temperature rises to 99-99.4 after evening. For most of the day the temperature remains below 98.6. He is playful and not complaining. Food intake is also normal. His palm and forehead feels little warm. Since last month or so he passes stool alternate days, but it's color is normal. Can you please help if this body temperature of his is ok or requires consultation ?

Its normal phenomenon. In evening, sometime child body temperature may be slightly high but not more than 100F.
Next Steps
Measure body temperature with thermometer in axilla and chart it. If temperature is more than 100.4F give medicine or do sponging.

Good morning, if it’s acute rise in temperature then do monitor temperature in regular intervals, write it down on a paper so that we can understand weather it’s in increasing trends. If it’s there from many days with diurnal variation, nothing to worry you can accept those temperatures.
Next Steps
Monitor temperature in regular intervals and make a chart with date and time, keep monitoring your child weight and write it down.

Good morning There is a diurnal variation in body temperature meaning temp fluctuates between different hours. What you are mentioning is within limits of that. But you should continue monitoring body temp, which is a very good practice you are Doing. Consult a pediatrician if you get two or more readings more than 99.5 degree farenheit. Hope it helps Thanks
