Do a simple test like RBS and consult a pediatrician. GDM is not significantly associated with skin changes in the child. Increased urination in winter is normal. Over-diagnosis is better than under-diagnosis better consultant near by paediatrician..

The "blackness in neck" in a one-year-old baby could be due to several factors,
Dermatitis Neglecta: This is a common cause where inadequate cleaning of the neck area leads to the accumulation of sweat, oil, and dead skin cells. Regular washing with soap and water can prevent this condition.
Acanthosis Nigricans: This condition causes thicker, darker patches in skin folds and creases, such as the neck. It can be a sign of an underlying condition, such as insulin resistance, which is a step towards developing type 2 diabetes. Given the mother's history of gestational diabetes mellitus (GDM), this is a potential concern that needs medical evaluation, as GDM can potentially affect the baby's long-term health risks.
Other Causes: Other possibilities include tinea versicolor (a fungal condition) or general variations in skin tone.
