Birth control pills and augmentin

Asked for Female, 16 Years

Last Monday I was given augmentin for a sinus and ear infection. I was told it could effect my birth control pills. I am now spotting really bad and just wondered if that was normal. And also if that could include hormonal changes in mood too.
