Asked for Female, 18 Years

I started a new pack of birth control pills on Sunday and had unprotected intercourse the next day. I went in to get a prescription for the emergency contraceptive Ella earlier today. They told me to take my birth control as usual but to wait two weeks to have intercourse for my hormones to balance out from takin both the Ella and my regular birth control. Is this recommended, waiting two weeks, or SHOUKD I wait till my next menstual cycle?
