Your baby's ultrasound shows a mild increase in the size of the kidney pelvis on both sides (mild hydronephrosis), with measurements around 7-8 mm. This falls in the mild category and, importantly, the values are stable over time, which is a reassuring sign. As per IAP guidelines, this is a common finding in infants and in many cases it improves or resolves on its own as the child grows. At present, there are no concerning features that would require further invasive testing like MCUG.
Next Steps
You should continue with regular follow-up ultrasounds, with the next scan typically advised around 6 months of age, to ensure the kidneys are developing normally. At home, keep an eye on your baby for any warning signs such as fever, difficulty or discomfort while passing urine, poor feeding, or poor weight gain, and consult your doctor if any of these occur.
Health Tips
There is no need to worry at this stage, as this condition is usually low-risk and self-resolving. However, it is important not to miss follow-up scans. If your baby develops a urinary tract infection at any point, further evaluation, including an MCUG test, may be required. Regular monitoring is the key to ensuring your baby remains healthy.
Ok as of now MCUG test is not required because from 4th day renal size and at 3rd month are size almost same means not increasing so just wait for 6th month.
Usually they resolve by 1 yr
