BIKE ACCIDENT

Asked for Male, 25 Years

I met with bike accident in which my hand got Fractured and as per doctor's advise surgery was imperative lower distal radius surgery was done on 7th September, 2017. In it screw and plate arrangement implant is fixed. So Physiotherapy has been done. Now what will be the best time/duration to remove the implant from hand. It is now around 5 months.

I doubt it will be taken on short term. your surgeon is the best person to decide when to remove it. reasons for not removing it are 1. bone takes 1 year to get its full density (previous strength). 2. fracture area and angle decides when to remove plates.
