My baby is 18 months old. I took him to a dentist, and the dentist recommended benzocaine gel. However, when I apply it, my baby swallows the gel. Is there any issue with this

In this case , question not elaborate. In 18 months baby,tooth will erupt(especially back tooth)it is called teething it lead to irritation,redness,drooling etc. You should do gum massage by clean finger Or visit dentist again tell about condition.
