Benefits of mentioned electrotherapies
Hello, as we previously discussed, my 68-year-old mother had slight ataxia, discomfort, and swelling in both of her ankles, among other symptoms, which a neurologist determined were caused by diabetic neuropathy. he recommended gait, balance, and coordination exercises, as well as strengthening exercises, and prescribed gabapin 300 (1-0-1) and sugar-lowering medications. Later, I brought her to a local physiotherapist, who recommended electrotherapies such IRR, IFT, Ultrasound, and others, as shown in the attached document, which is indicated by a tick under the selected electrotherapy. Thus, I ask, are all chosen electrotherapies actually necessary? If so, describe each ticked-off electrotherapy treatment's special benefit. Thanks a lot

Yes, all these electo modalities (IFT,TENS,US,IRR) are required for the patient. She is diabetic along with the age factor she suffers pain and swelling in both ankles which makes even more difficult for her to walk. So TENS,IFT are electrical stimulation which relieve pain  by exciting sensory nerves and activating the pain gate mechanism IRR ,US reduces swelling by  penetrating deep in the tissue and improve the blood circulation  and draining the pain causing  chemicals which improves healing.
Next Steps
medication and physiotherapy under proper guidance is required.Gait training, balancing exercises along with strengthening exercises are must.Try to reduce sugar intake in her diet . Include high fibre and nutrients in diet.

If this is not combined with exercising in the presence of Physiotherapist, then the electrotherapy is of no use. She needs balance, strengthening, ADL based functional training. Please seek a physiotherapist who is a neuro physiotherapist.
