My 4 year old son had a cysts on the back of his knee. we went to a doctor and we told it was a bakers cyst and recommended surgery. But after less than two weeks before surgery the cyst was no longer visible . i thought it was gone . But I did checked it again and i can feel a small hard lump the size of a pea. what could it be? is it the lump getting smaller? im confused because the lump was soft to touch when we first noticed it .. . the soft lump is no longer visible but a small hard lump appeared. what could it be?

Hello parent Bakers cyst in children tends to go away spontaneously but the time frame may vary from months to years. If it's not causing any problem to the child then no surgical intervention is needed. If the child is asymptomatic and the cyst has become hard it's getting resolved. Still he needs to be examined to confirm.
Next Steps
Get him examined by a Pediatric Surgeon
Health Tips
In case he develops pain/ any other symptom contact surgeon immediately
