Hello dear patient the pain in the left hypochondrial area can be due to gastritis, pancreatitis, spleen pathology, kidney problem, large intestine problems or just because of lung pathology or local muscle pain. If there are no other symptoms except gastritis then it's OK, you can take syrup mucaine gel two teaspoon three times daily and also tablet pantocid 40 twice daily for one week, these are otc medications and does not require Dr's prescription. If there are other symptoms then you can talk about it over consultation.
