Infants(upto one year baby) should be exclusively breastfed for the first six months of life to achieve optimal growth, development and health. Thereafter, to meet their evolving nutritional requirements, infants should receive nutritionally adequate and safe complementary foods, while continuing to breastfeed for up to two years or beyond. If complementary foods are not introduced around the age of 6 months, or if they are given inappropriately, an infant’s growth may falter. Consult me for further opinion. Regards

Just remeber this simple rule for weight : Infant at 6 month - will have 2×( times ) the birth weight By 12 months - they will be 3× (times ) birth weight Note : this rule is for normal term babies . If your infant was born preterm then the above rule dosent apply and growth then is assessed using different growth charts. So dont be so worried about increasing the weight of your baby if ur baby fits well in the above criteria And now that ur baby reached 6 months you should start with complementary feeding . Boiled rice made into paste Mashed sweet potatos And you can use ghee, vegetable oils if weight is your  concern There is just 1 thing to keep in mind : Avoid solids like groundnuts , almonds, cashew as they lead to chocking Always do check for food intolerance especially COW MILK ALLERGY which generally manifests as fussiness, improper feeding , excessive cry during feeding , vomiting , streaking of blood on the stools etc
Next Steps
allergies to peanuts, cow milk , eggs are very common in children so please look out for them . one good way is to introduce one food at a time for example if you start egg today then font intorduce any new food in the next week so that any allergic reaction will manifest withing this duration . if not present then you can proceed to add a new food . happy parenting 😁 thank you

6 to 8 months start cereals like rice, wheat and ragi...can add very little salt or jaggery( their requirements will be very low) in it..to start with, in semisolid form... Should be very smooth without lumps to avoid choking Give fruits like banana..and only give one at a time...to look if any allergies, after every new feed... Later on after 8mobths can add pulses...
