Baby's Fall from bed Head Swell & fever
My 8-month-old baby girl (7 kg) fell from a 1.5-foot-high bed and hit the left side of her head above the ear. Swelling appeared on that area, and we applied ice packs 2–3 times daily. Hello I understand your concern for your child Most scalp swellings after a fall are not associated with serious brain injury, especially if the baby is alert, feeding well, and behaving normally. Scalp has the ability to resolve any minor internal bleed by itself.
Next Steps
If there are any danger signs then you will need to go for ultrasound or CT of head Since the baby is more mobile now, ensure safety with side rails and close monitoring.
Health Tips
Watch for red flags: Vomiting repeatedly Unusual drowsiness or difficulty waking up Excessive irritability or inconsolable crying Seizures or abnormal movements Bulging of the soft spot (anterior fontanelle) Bleeding from the nose or ears Poor feeding or refusal to feed Weakness in limbs or change in usual movement
