My baby is 27 days old, and he was a preemie, born at 34 weeks and 2 days.
The doctor said to use formula to help him gain weight until he hit 3kg, which he just did! So now I'm exclusively breastfeeding him. He gets hungry every 1.5 hours and feeds for about 20 to 30 minutes. He pees and poops well too.
For the last two nights, he's been crying as soon as I put him down after feeding, even though he was totally asleep while feeding.
I burp him and hold him upright for at least 10 minutes before putting him down, but it doesn't seem to help.
I'm wondering if it has something to do with my feeding – like, am I overfeeding him? And, how can I get him to calm down?

Hello
Regarding your concern i would like to assure you that nothing to worry about crying .. Baby feels comfortable in mother lap or surroundings so in such cases to prevent crying ..
Steps to follow
1) prewarm the linen before putting the baby in cradle or bed
2) while putting the baby on cradle first put the baby buttock followed by head to prevent startle
3) maintain din light
That's completely normal madam.Newborn baby sometimes don't like keeping them on any floor(cradle, mattress, cushion...etc) but feels comfortable in our hands. So basically if baby cry excessively but gets comfortable in your hands and plus baby accepting breast feeding well and passing urine more than 6-7 times in 24 hours then it normal and on other side If baby having excessive Cry but not comfortable in hands or feeding issues or passing less urine then seek doctor opinion.
Hi Good morning,
As your baby is a preterm baby, he wants to be with you as you provide warmth and necessary care. There is something called as kangaroo mother care which is keeping your baby on your chest for atleast 18hours a day. This will help with heat regulation, warmth and you will also get good breastmilk due to the bonding.
Next Steps
1. Don worry it is normal but try doing kangaroo mother care
2. It is very useful for his weight gain too
