Antibiotics during periods
I am 44 years old..today is the second dayvof my period ..I have fever and cold and is on azithromycin 250 mg 3 tablets a day and 2 tablets of febrex plus.. today is the last day of medication Can antibiotics lead to heavier bleeding as I see that this period is heavier than my other periods What can I do? Hope it does not lead to prolonged periods Thanks

No , Fever will not cause heavy bleeding . Seeing your age , its better to get an Ultrasound done Based on the reports you can be guided further

Heavy bleeding doesnt happen because of antibiotics but inflammation can play a minor role if ur down with fever. U should monitor your next cycles and in case this happens again u should get an ultrasound pelvis done

Azithromycin would not cause heavy periods. It’s more likely because youre perimenopausal. Heavy menstrual bleeding can occur in this age group.
