Anemia and irregular periods
My sister is having irregular periods and she got her Haemoglobin tested. She's anemic with haemoglobin 9.2. What will be the iron tablets recommended to her

You are basically having 2 issues 1) anemia : start on iron+fa tablet which IS PROVIDED BY GOVT OF INDIA (60mg elemental iron + 500 mcg folic acid combination ) you will get it FREE OF COST . Take this tablet once weekly for entire life untill and unless you are pregnant because untill menopause you are gonna bleed so anemia can continue so u need to take it for long time ...once weekly tab . 2) irregular periods : get UPT done and if comes out to be negative : must consult an OBG doc for evaluation of irregular periods

First she needs treatment for her irregular periods. Get her thyroid profile checked T3,T4 and TSH . Capsule ferrous ascorbate 100 mg + folic acid 1.5 mg  daily one capsule for a month . Add iron rich food to your diet. See anemia is not only because of iron deficiency so please show the report
