Anal Fistula
My mothers MRI report says- Transsphincteric fistula in ano with mucosal opening in 6 'O'clock position and cutaneous opening in right posterior perianal region... What does it mean ?? Can anyone explain it?? My mom's doc is on leave after 2 days she will come...I want to know what this exactly means??? Thanku so much

It means that your mother has a fistula-in-ano, which has two opening one on the skin around the anus & other inside the(anus) anal canal. The entire tract needs to be removed so that the soiling of undergarments with pus/mucus discharge from fistula stops.

It means transphincteric fistula in ano. Which can be either high or low fistula depending on details in MRI an don local EXAMINATION findings.
