Ideal is to use lactogen but not amul or any other dairy milk as they are cow milk based and cow milk should not be used ideally upto 1 year of age. Continue mother feeding for atleast 4 times a day along with complimentary feeding. After 6 months complimentarry feeding should be started in a phased manner.

When your child is about 6 months old, you can start introducing him or her to foods and drinks other than breast milk and infant formula. The foods and drinks you feed your child are sometimes called complementary foods.alert icon You can think of these as “complementing,” or adding to, the breast milk or infant formula that you continue to feed your child. Feed up to two meals daily (and as little as one every couple of days), with each meal 2 to 4 tablespoons. Offer foods such as iron-fortified single-grain baby cereal, and pureed vegetables, fruits, meats. (To identify possible allergic reactions or digestive issues, don't introduce more than one food at a time.)  Around this time, you should also start offering finger foods like strained vegetables, fruit, yogurt, cottage cheese, and casseroles
Next Steps
watch for food allergic reaction
