Only if symptoms are very severe, we suggest going for surgery directly. Else we give a trial of steroid nasal spray( prescribed considering multiple factors) for 2 or 3 months with a short course of nasal decongestants. A lot of patients improve with nasal spray alone. In case the symptoms persist or further worsen, surgery is adviced

Adenoid gland enlargement is common for this age group, if the symptoms are frequent, u will have to use steroid nasal spray long term and if need be, surgery can be planned at a latter age
Adenoid enlargement is very common, and it starts to regress by the age of 12-13, u can try medical management with nasal spray, such as mometasone nasal spray for 3 months, get reviewed and complaints persist continue for 3 more months, and wait and see, but if frequent cold and ear blockage/nasal blockage persist, u can go for surgery.
You need to use the prescribed nasal spray regularly
Every day morning and night 1puff each time
Do not skip spray
Next Steps
Use mometasone nasal spray 1puff twice daily for 6months
Wait and watch
If improving then you can continue the spray for another 6 months to one year
If not better to get surgery done
(Adenoid is a very common condition in children so nothing to worry it’ll regress in most of them as they grow up)
Health Tips
Make the child do lot of physical activities
Skipping will be very helpful
