AFI 26 cm at 34th week of pregnancy
Hi, My history of scans belke 20 Weeks - single deepest pocket ( 4.5 ) 28th week - AFI is 19cm 34th week - AFI is 26.5 baby weight is 2.5 kgs . They mention polyhydramnios. Is it a issue ? They mentioned baby may have gut issues .j us worried about baby .I am also GDM patient ( was controlling through foods only ) .seeing AFI values now, and doc added insulin for 20 days. What can be the causes for AFI 26.5 at 34th week

Yes this is an issue this is indicative of high amount of liquor around the baby The most common reason for high amount of liquor is incontrollled sugars Other reasons could be congenital malformations in the baby would should have been ruled out by the level two scan
