AFI 20 In 29 weeks pregnancy

I am 29 weeks 1day pregnant till second trimester my AFI is normal now In third trimester it become AFI 20 my sugar level is normal and today doctor gave me dexa 12 mg injection. Is everything will be ok. What can be the root cause for it?
