Acebrophylline and montleukast
Hello Doctor, My sister has been having a cough for the past 4 days. The cough is worse at night and is associated with mucus and a runny nose. There's no fever. She was prescribed an antibiotic, a syrup containing ambroxol and guaifenesin, montelukast, and acebrophylline. I’d like to know if the antibiotic and syrup alone would be enough, or are montelukast and acebrophylline also necessary in her case? Thank you for your advice.

Montelukast is usually given in there is some allergic component , But in this case it looks like a simple URTI case . Antibiotics and cough syrup would suffice
