Sniffing or even licking is not harmful on intact skin... If that dog licked ur skin and it has no abrasions or cuts, just simply wash the area with soap and water under running water... . . . And just relax, don't be anxious... In this case, nothing is to worry about...

Rabies is only transmitted through the saliva of an infected animal entering broken skin or mucous membranes — so a bite, scratch, or lick on an open wound. If the dog just passed by closely and there was no scratch, bite, or contact with your eyes, mouth or any open skin, you do not need a rabies vaccine. However if you are unsure whether there was any lick on broken skin, it is always safer to take the vaccine as a precaution since rabies is a serious infection.
