Yes, you are right — for most routine vaccines, a minimum gap of about 4 weeks is usually recommended between doses, especially when multiple injectable vaccines are involved. This helps the immune system respond optimally. However, the Polio Day (Pulse Polio) vaccine is an exception. The oral polio vaccine given on Polio Day is safe to give even if your child has recently received other vaccines or is scheduled to receive them soon. This special drive is done for community protection, not just individual protection. The goal is to replace any possible wild polio virus in the community with a harmless vaccine virus, thereby preventing the disease from spreading. So, even if your child has received routine immunisations recently, giving the Polio Day drops at the same time is safe and recommended.

Yes you can take polio drops again. The government gives extra doses on pulse polio days as they don't want polio to come again to India. There is no side effect of these extra doses.

Yes you can. These doses are not counted in normal immunization protocol which your baby is following. These are govt programs which are for public welfare. It helps govt to keep a check on immunization practices and better vaccination strategies. You should give the drops
